Tirap deputy commissioner Taro Mize has launched ‘DDMA Tirap’, a static mobile application that would help the administration share advisories related to various natural disasters among the public.

Developed by district informatics officer Rakesh Das, the app contains general guidelines and advisories related to various disaster events and their management in the district.

It also contains the helpline numbers of various emergency services of the Tirap district while advisories related to preparedness, mitigation and safety measures are also listed in the application.

The app also works offline as its data is static.

Tirap DC Taro Mize, while launching the app on Monday, appreciated Das and the National Informatics Centre (NIC) team of Khonsa for developing the mobile app which he said would definitely help the denizens of the district and make them aware of the different aspects of disaster management.

The app will also help raise awareness about disaster preparedness and management, Mize said.

The Tirap DC has further appealed to all to download the application on their respective mobile phones.

The app is at present available only at the Google Play Store for download.
