It may be mentioned here that normalcy is slowly returning to the remote Arunachal Pradesh town of Vijoynagar.

Violent protests broke out at Vijoynagar on December 11 with several government offices being gutted by protesters over the voting rights of former Assam Rifles personnel in the panchayat polls.

As many as 24 persons have been arrested thus far in connection with December 11 arson and rioting that rocked Vijoynagar.

Vijoynagar is a small border town in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district and is surrounded by Myanmar on three sides.
