Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday met the members of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) at his office in Itanagar.

The meeting was held ahead of the mains examination of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) conducted by the commission.

The mains examination for the CCE, 2020 is slated to be held on February 6, 2021.

With just over 2 months left for the mains examination, the meeting holds significance as the APPSC has been making repeated assurance of conducting a “foolproof examination taking necessary precautions based on past experiences.”

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu stressed on the fact that the State needs civil servants, who could be trusted with their merit, ability and integrity.

“Politicians can be changed but civil servants remains the same. I will ensure Arunachal gets civil servants who can be trusted with their merit, ability and integrity. Held a meeting today with members of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission to strengthen the commission,” said Pema Khandu.

Earlier on November 24, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig BD Mishra (Retd) had held a meeting with APPSC Chairman Nipo Nabam and APPSC Secretary AR Talwade.

The meeting was convened by the Governor to discuss and put in motion a foolproof system for flawless conduct of APPSC’s Mains Examination, 2020.

Governor Brig BD Mishra (Retd) emphasized on the onerous responsibility of the APPSC to leave no stone unturned for making sure that the question papers are flawless, within the given syllabus and strictly as per the rules of the APPSC.

The Governor also had emphasized on the need of the Commission to reinforce faith of the people in the APPSC for their transparency and objectivity.

Notably, The APPSC had been entangled in a controversy with the last examination taking over three years to complete.
