Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein and minister for civil supplies Kamlung Mossang called on Governor Brig (Dr) B D Mishra (Retd) at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar on Sunday.
They reviewed the development programmes and projects, law and order issues and civil supplies position, including for Vijoynagar in the State.
During the meeting, Mishra reiterated on proper monitoring and implementation of projects within a timeframe and suggested for regular review meetings to ensure speedy progress of the projects, particularly the road projects.
The Governor emphasized on the timely allocation of necessary fund for the developmental works to the concerned departments well in time, so that the last-minute rush of release of funds at the close of the financial year can be avoided.
At the same time, there should be a strong mechanism to prevent leakage or misutilization of allocated public money, the Governor reiterated.
Mishra also discussed about recent incidences of law and order in the eastern part of the State.
He advised the deputy chief minister to further strengthen the age-old amity and goodwill amongst people from different communities in the State.
He also advised state civil supplies minister to streamline the Public Distribution Systems, so that every citizen of the State, particularly those in remote areas like Taksing, Monigong, Chaglagam and Vijoynagar, get regular supplies of essential commodities.
The deputy chief minister, who has recently returned from his district tours, briefed the Governor about various projects which have been successfully implemented.
He also detailed about the developments of several vital ongoing state and centrally sponsored projects.
