In a bid to keep the government establishments and its surroundings clean, the East Kameng district administration of Arunachal Pradesh has launched a cleanliness drive cum safai competition in the district headquarters of Seppa.

Organized under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, G S Rawat, the drive which got off to a positive start on Saturday, and would be held till August 14, is being organized as a part of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Circle Officer (SBM) Laxmi Dodum informed.

Dodum also said that, in order to make the cleanliness campaign a success, Deputy Commissioner Rawat has constituted a team of four officials that would inspect all the government offices and mark them on parameters such as general cleanliness, water logging, growth of vegetation, cleanliness outside the compound etc.

“After inspecting all the government establishments, the team which includes NTPC consultant Yama Putom, psychologist Likha Jardom, DPC Yarme Singhi and FBLC Metom Neri would finally on August 14, select the best performing ones and they would be accordingly awarded during the Independence celebrations,” Dodum said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Deputy Commissioner Rawat, vide a circular issued on Friday had asked all the heads of departments to participate and conduct the cleanliness drive at their respective offices.
