Arunachal Pradesh created history on Tuesday when the largest transport aircraft, the C-17 Globemaster of the Indian Air Force, landed at Tuting airfield close to the Chinese border.
An IAF spokesperson announced that the C17 Globemaster carried out ‘a historic landing’ at Tuting Advanced Landing Ground in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday.
“The mission was executed flawlessly owing to its superlative performance and excellent flying skills of pilots,” the air force spokesperson added.
The landing of the US-manufactured largest transport aircraft is seen as part of the Indian Air Force’s move to strengthen its overall operations in the strategically-key border state.
India and China are having border tension for quite some time after the Doklam standoff last year.
