The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) is all set to organize a two-day long extended State executive meeting-cum-social media awareness programme – Sangharsh Sammelan – at the Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here from December 19 to December 21 next.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, APCC vice-president Bosiram Siram, who is also the organizing chairman of the event, informed that the committee, during the meeting will prepare a roadmap and an action plan “for next 100 days” after holding detailed discussions on both party and State-related issues.
“The inputs generated from the meeting on various State-related issues will be considered and if needed it would be added to the party’s manifesto which will be released on a later date. All the members of APCC’s frontal organizations, senior former leaders, party members and office bearers at the block and district level, will be taking part in the event,” Siram informed.
He further informed that AICC general secretary in-charge of Arunachal Pradesh, Luizinho Faleiro and AICC secretary in-charge Arunachal Pradesh Zenith Sangma will also be taking part in the meeting and in the social media awareness programme.
Commenting on the social media awareness programme, State Congress spokesperson Mina Toko said: “In today’s digital age, each and every member of the party should know about how social media works and also understand the legalities involved in it. The awareness programme looks to address the same.”
Mina also said that party members would be educated on how to facilitate the dissemination of correct information and updates at the grass root level.
Acknowledging that political parties capitalize on social media’s reach for spreading its messages, Mina at the same time clarified that the initiative is not for the upcoming elections but is being organized with a long-term vision.
“This programme was already a scheduled and did not stem from the recent poll results in any way,” she clarified.
