Union home minister Amit Shah has called a meeting of all stakeholders at his residence over the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) on Friday.
On the other hand, Congress MPs from Northeast in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have decided to stage a protest demonstration against CAB in the Parliament premises on the same day.

Government sources said that the meeting at Sha’s residence is likely to start at 9 in the evening.
“All the stakeholders including leaders from different political parties from Northeast as well as other organizations have been invited for the meeting,” sources said.
It is believed that government is planning to bring the CAB in the Parliament next week.

Earlier, government has said that they will bring the CAB in the winter session of the Parliament.
Meanwhile, Congress MPs from northeast will stage the demonstration in front of the Gandhi statue in the Parliament premises.
The CAB seeks to make it easier for the non-Muslim immigrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to become citizens of India.
