Hours after BJP general secretary Ram Madhav  announcing AGP-BJP alliance in Assam, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Wednesday said that this alliance in Assam will not have any impact on the Congress’s poll prospect.

“This unholy alliance will not have impact on our prospect. In fact all the supports of AGP and those who were neutral till date will support Congress,” said APCC president Ripun Bora.

Bora alleged that AGP’s walking out of the alliance in Assam opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill  “was a drama.”

“From day one we have said that AGP only wants to grab power. And they did a drama by walking out of the alliance in Assam opposing the Citizenship Bill. They have again stuck a deal. What does it mean!” said Bora.

The APCC president said that his party will get more than eight seats in Assam this time. The Congress has bagged only three seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha election in the state.

“At this time we are contesting the election alone…” said Bora on the question whether Congress will go for a pre poll or post poll alliance with the liker minded parties.
