Khandakar also said, “Our leader, late Lafikul Islam Ahmed was shot dead in the broad daylight last year on August 1 at Titaguri in Kokrajhar. The Assam Government formed SIT to investigate into Lafikul’s killing and later the case was handed over to the CBI. But till date, they have failed to arrest the main culprits who were involved in the killing of Lafikul and give justice to the victim’s family as well as the ABMSU. So, we demand the CBI to give justice to the victim’s family by sending the main culprits behind the bar and get stringent punishment.”
