The Arakan Army has rejected the Myanmar Army’s claim that the former has unleashed a reign of terror on villages of Kyauktaw and Rathedaung townships.
The Arakan in a statement termed as ‘untruth’ the statement made by the commander in chief of Myanmar Army on February 10 and 11 last.
It stated that on the contrary, the Myanmar Army had conducted ‘indiscriminate and artillery attacks and arson on villages Kyauktaw and Rathedaung townships including Rak-khang-daung village in Rathedaung’.
The Arakan Army further said, the Myanmar Army and its ‘fabricated media campaign wing’ had put the blame on them.
It also said, the Myanmar Army has always been blaming the Arakan Army for all war crimes through baseless and fabricated news.
It had also termed the inhuman atrocities inflicted by the Myanmar Army on these villages as heinous.
The Arakan Army further said the villagers who are targeted stand testimony to the atrocities and ‘wicked acts’ of the Tatmadaw Army.
