Tripura on Wednesday registered one more COVID19 positive case taking the state total to 155.
Confirming the news, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb said the infected patient is a Border Security Force (BSF) official from the 86th Battalion based at Ambassa in Dhalai district.
Chief minister Deb said samples of 652 civilians and BSF personnel were sent for COVID19 test, out of which, sample of a BSF official tested positive for the virus.
The Tripura chief minister claimed maximum number of COVID19 tests are being conducted in Tripura to ensure that the people of the state remain safe.
Chief minister Deb tweeted: “652 civilians & BSF officials have undergone #COVID19 test, among them 1 BSF official of 86th Battalion, Ambassa found COVID-19 POSITIVE.”
“We are conducting maximum number of COVID19 tests to ensure better safety of every people of this State,” said Deb, adding, “Stay safe !”
India has so far recorded 74,281 COVID19 positive cases and 2,415 deaths.
Currently, there are 47,480 active COVID19 cases while 24,385 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovery.
Globally, the virus has affected 4.4 million people and claimed the lives of 2.96 lakh people.
