Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb on Thursday night declared that the State is now free from coronavirus.
The second COVID-19 patient of the State has been found negative after consecutive tests.
The chief minister said, ‘as the second patient found negative for consecutive tests, hence our State has become coronavirus free’.
Hoever, he requested everyone to maintain social distancing and follow government guidelines.
Till now Tripura registered two COVID-19 patients.
The first patient was a lady of 45 years of age from Udaipur of Gomoti district.
She was discharged from the GBP hospital on April 14 last.
The second person is a security personnel from Madhya Pradesh and working in Tripura State Rifles 13th battalion.
He was posted at Damchara of North Tripura district.
He was found positive on April 10 last and since then he has been undergoing treatment at GBP hospital of Agartala.
After that the State did not see any new COVID-19 case.
