The MP Road in Dimapur has been sealed following the death of a woman at a paid quarantine centre in a hotel along the road on Wednesday.

She was reportedly two months pregnant.

Sources said she came from Guwahati and arrived at Dimapur in the early hours on Wednesday.

Her husband reportedly dropped her and then returned to Guwahati.

The woman was not keeping well and called her friends to inform about her condition, who in turn sought help from the medical team.

When the medical team arrived, it found her room locked from inside. On breaking open the door, she was found dead.

Post-mortem of the body is being conducted and her COVID19 test will also be done, after which the cause of the death can be ascertained, health officials said.

Meanwhile, Dimapur district recorded the highest number of positive cases with 432 followed by Peren 254, Kohima 216, Mon 99, Tuensang 44, Phek 17, Zunheboto 12, Mokokchung 9, Longleng 3 and one in Wokha district.

Among the active cases, Dimapur has 270 patients, Kohima 109, Peren 95, Mon 91, Tuensang 10, Phek 8, Mokokchung 7, Zunheboto 7, Longleng 3, and Wokha one.

Of the 485 recovered patients, 163 are from Dimapur, Peren 158, Kohima 107, Tuensang 34, Phek 9, Mon 8, Zunheboto 4 and two in Mokokchung. Kiphire is the only district in the state which has no positive case till date.

One of the active patients in Dimapur is on ventilator.

Nagaland on Wednesday registered 57 Covid19 cases, taking the state’s tally to 1,087.

“Out of 513 samples tested, 57 positive cases of CoOVID-19 have been confirmed,” health and family welfare minister S. Pangnyu Phom tweeted on Wednesday.

He said of the fresh 57 positive cases, 23 are in Dimapur, 18 in Kohima, seven in Zunheboto, five in Peren, and two each in Mon and Mokokchung.

Out of 1087 positive cases, 602 are active while 485 patients have recovered. No death occurred due to the virus till date.

The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients in the state stood at 47 percent, according to the health and family welfare department on Tuesday.
