With 78,524 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 tally crossed the 68 lakh-mark, apart from reporting 971 new deaths.

Over 11 lakh people were tested for COVID-19 test on Wednesday, taking the total number of testing done so far to over eight crores, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data revealed.

With the festive season around the corner, it is feared that the COVID-19 curve in the country may rise again.

With an aim to create awareness, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch an awareness campaign promoting, COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.

In a tweet ahead of the launch, Modi said, “Let’s unite to fight Corona! Always remember: Do wear a mask, keep your hands clean, follow social distancing, maintain ‘two yards’ distance from others,” he tweeted.”

“India’s COVID-19 fight is people-driven and gets great strength from our COVID warriors. Our collective efforts have helped saved many lives. We have to continue the momentum and protect our citizens from the virus,” the tweet added.
