The deputy commissioner of eastern Assam’s Dibrugarh district, Pallav Gopal Jha on Thursday directed health officials to prepare a list of people based on screening and travel history collected at airport and railway stations by the screening teams for coronavirus.

He also directed to monitor closely the health conditions of the persons who had recently arrived from outside the State or from abroad and to submit daily reports.

The directions were issued in a meeting held in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office.

Moreover,  police officials were also directed to deploy sufficient numbers of CRPF jawans both at Dibrugarh town and Banipur railway stations, so that complete screening of people coming from outside can be assured.

It may be mentioned that Dibrugarh district administration has already detailed executive magistrates to monitor the screening provisions set up at railway stations and at Dibrugarh airport so that each and every passenger is screened.

Deputy commissioner Jha has also directed all private coaching centres/coaching institutes/computer teaching centres in the district to close down with immediate effect and stated that strict legal action will be initiated against anyone found violating these instructions.
