In view of COVID-19 outbreak and to prevent its spread in the community, the Chirang District Health Society of Assam has started the Community Surveillance Programme (CSP) in Chirang district on Thursday.

The health workers engaged for conducting the programme started visiting house to house in village areas to identify the COVID-19 transmission or symptomatic minor flu cases related to respiratory infections along with other diseases associated with fever like malaria, dengue, Japanese encephalitis, measles etc at their homes.

The district health authorities in this regard informed that they had already set up screening camp for the people coming from outside the State and inter district passengers and formed nearby 40 health workers teams in the district.

They urged the people to extend cooperation with their health workers and provide them specific health details while they visit homes for successful implementation of the programme.
