Guwahati: Two women suspected of being drug peddlers were arrested by the police from the Fancy Bazar area in Guwahati, Assam with a significant amount of suspected heroin.

As per reports, the women were arrested during a raid based on specific inputs at the Railway Gate No 3 in Fancy Bazar, Guwahati.

The two women have been termed as “habitual offenders” by the police.

The rain conducted by the police and its special task force recovered 70 vials of suspected heroin.

The estimated weight of the heroin was reported to be around 94 grams and to be worth several lakhs.

Two mobile phones, five empty vials, and Rs 830 were seized from the two women.

Of the two women, one was a resident of Darrang while the other woman was a resident of Udalguri.

An investigation has been initiated to identify the accomplices of the two women and the network they were operating under.
