Guwahati: Two suspected poachers were arrested by the forest department and police from Nagaon in Assam on Tuesday.

As per reports, both men were accused of killing multiple wild animals in and around Kaziranga National Park.

The accused were identified as Ohinath Orang and Chamung Timung.

The police said that the accused were found in possession of a handmade gun, ammunition, and two mobile phones.

Police said that the departments had inputs about some persons being involved in hunting-related activities.

Based on the inputs, an investigation was initiated that led to Orang and Timung.

Both were found to be involved in hunting-related activities within the forest areas in the region.

Further investigation has been initiated in connection with the accused.
