Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said people from all walks of life have expressed their desire to donate to India’s war against COVID19.

For that reason, a new public charitable trust – Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES)- has been constituted, he added.

The primary objective of this charitable trust is to deal with any kind of emergency or distress situation, like posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and to provide relief to the affected.
