Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has won the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award 2020 for Humanity Ambassador.
As per reports, Salman Khan, who is one of the biggest stars that Indian cinema has ever seen, has reportedly never backed down in serving the humanity even after facing many difficulties in life due to many cases lodged against him.
The down-to-earth personality and humble nature of the superstar are often visible in his various activities.
The superstar, who continues to break records at the box-office, reportedly never stops in helping the people in need and reach out to them.
To serve humanity and in the name of humanity, the actor also launched an organization ‘Being Human – The Salman Khan Foundation’.
The Foundation, established in 2007, is a registered charitable trust and it works in the areas of education and healthcare for the underprivileged.
The Foundation is also involved in many charitable activities.
The organization funds the education of 200 children at the Akshara High School in Mumbai and another 300 through Aseema, a Mumbai-based non-profit organisation.
According to a report, ‘Being Human – The Salman Khan Foundation’ has provided funding to treat children with congenital heart defects and craniofacial deformities.
Following the announcement of the award, Salman Khan fans have stormed the social networking sites including Twitter with warm wishes.
Due to his services to the underprivileged children, Salman Khan was on December 10, 2015, acquitted of all charges in the 2002 hit-and-run case by the Bombay High Court which set aside the sessions court’s May order sentencing him to five-year imprisonment.
