The government schools of Guwahati recorded the lowest pass percentage among the 10 zones in the Class X results of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination, results of which were declared on Tuesday.

The government schools of Guwahati recorded a dismal 34.72 per cent.
However, the trend has been noticed on a national level with pass percentages falling across institutions, with government schools lagging behind in many regions.
The pass percentage across the country was 86.70 per cent.
Last year, the figure had stood at 97.2 per cent.
The performance of government schools was particularly poor, at 63.97 per cent.
Government schools of Thiruvananthapuram had the highest pass percentage at 97.15 per cent.
A total of 1,31,493 students scored more than 90 per cent, while 27,476 scored more than 95 per cent.
The CBSE Board Class 10 examination was conducted at 17,567 schools and 4,460 exam centres.
This year, around 16,24,682 students appeared for the examination out of which 14,08,594 passed.
A total of 98.32 per cent students cleared the CBSE Class 10 examination in schools outside the country.
