Google on Monday dedicated its doodle honouring Vikram Sarabhai on the centenary birth anniversary.
The doodle illustration has been created by Pavan Rajurkar- a Mumbai-based artist.
Sarabhai was born in Ahmedabad on August 12, 1919, and attended Gujarat College before earning his doctorate from Cambridge University.
At the age of 28, he founded the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) in Ahmedabad on November 11, 1947.

His endeavours were supported by Dr Homi Bhabha- considered as ‘Father of India’s nuclear science programme’.
Dr Sarabhai’s tireless efforts in the field of space programmes in India resulted in the launch of India’s first satellite ‘Aryabhata’ in 1975- five years after his death in 1971.
An award-winning physicist, industrialist, and innovator- Dr Vikram Sarabhai also played a pivotal role in the establishment of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
