A national level workshop on “Modern Power Engineering Trends and Practices in India” will be hosted by Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology, (GIMT) Guwahati with Assam Science and Technology University.
GIMT’s department of Electrical Engineering is organizing the workshop.
The workshop will be held on September 21-22 under TEQIP-III scheme, MHRD, New Delhi.
Bipul Kumar Talukdar, the coordinator of the workshop informs that some important areas in modern power system engineering such as HVDC power transmission, SCADA, smart and Micro grid, present power scenario in India, grid integration of renewable energy etc. will be the main topics of discussion during the two-day period.
Dr. Mukul Chandra Bora, State Project Administrator, SPIU-North East will be the Chief Guest. Prof. Debashis Chatterjee from Jadavpur University; Prof. Debapriya Das from IIT Kharagpur, Jatindra Kumar Baishya, CGM(D&S), UAR, APDCL, Assam and Manash Jyoti Baishya, Senior Engineer, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. will deliver lectures and interact with the participants.
The workshop is open for the undergraduate and post graduate students, research scholars and also faculties of Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering as well as Energy Engineering domain from the technical Institutes/colleges /universities all over India.
