The 7th Regional Principals’ Conference of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Tinsukia Region was inaugurated at Dibrugarh on Monday.
The three-day regional conference will be conclude on August 8.
The purpose of the regional principals’ conference has been organised with a view to discuss the issues and challenges of 37 Kendriya Vidyalayas under the umbrella of the regional office at Tinsukia.
These 37 Kendriya Vidyalayas are spread in four States of the northeastern region including Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.
This year, the KVS New Delhi has deputed Dr E Prabhakar, Joint Commissioner, KVS (HQ), New Delhi as the Chief Guest to discuss the challenges and to guide the principals of the KVs on various administrative issues.
The programme was inaugurated at 9:30 am on Monday by lighting a lamp and honouring the delegates with ‘japi’, ‘gamusa’ and planters.
The welcome song was performed by the students of KV Dibrugarh and the formal welcome address was delivered by BK Behera, AC, KVS (RO), Tinsukia.
The keynote address was presented by SK Chopdar, DC, KVS Tinsukia Region.
In his speech, Chopdar said, “The conference of KVS principals is a unique get-together as this is a platform from where we can plan strategies and discuss the matters related to KVs of four States in Northeast.”
