Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) vice-chancellor, Professor Saket Khuswaha on Monday assured to set-up an MA entrance examination centre at Donyi Polo Government College (DPGC), Kamki in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh soon.

The assurance from the vice-chancellor came after a delegation of Galo Students’ Union (GSU) had called on Professor Khuswaha at his office at Rono Hills and submitted a representation regarding the same.

“From the next academic session, the students’ from West Siang and other nearby districts will not have to come to the RGU campus for giving the MA entrance examination as the demand for the examination centre at DPGC, Kamki shall be considered at top most priority before next session starts,” said Professor Khuswaha.

The vice-chancellor said that he would take up the issue in next academic council meeting of the RGU for consideration.

As per the GSU, the DPGC, Kamki can accommodate more than 2000 students in one go as an examination centre.

Besides those from DPGC Kamki, the students from, Model College Basar, Saint Francis De-Sales College Yeggo, Model College Daporijo as well as the North Eastern Frontier Technical University, B Ed College, and Teachers College in Aalo will immensely benefit from the examination centre’s establishment.

This will also reduce financial and other burdens on the students, the GSU said.
