The decision comes in the wake of nine students arrested from AEC on Wednesday, on charges of indecent behavior, vandalism and hooliganism at a wedding party at the Jalukbari area of Guwahati.
“The campus is extremely porous and there are several entry and exit points. This also proves to be very difficult for the security forces to keep tabs on unauthorized movements from all the exit and entry points to and from the campus. After enforcing additional security, the college premises will be enclosed and monitored with appropriate security to prevent unauthorized entry and exit in the future.” The teachers, students and alumni of the college informed in a joint statement to the media.
The college authority and students have repeatedly insisted on the need to close the campus from all sides and installing better security measures to prevent unauthorized entry of outsiders into the college premises.
