Good news for the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of India as Reliance Jio Infocomm plans to roll out affordable cloud-based solutions.
This will boost the country’s data centres business, say analysts.
As per media reports, Reliance Jio Infocomm will come out with the new plan in partnership with Microsoft.
As Reliance Jio disrupted India’s telecom market with its prices, this will be another wave of disruption in the data prices targeting the SMEs.
Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani recently announced that their telecom arm would offer SMEs a combination of Microsoft cloud solutions and connectivity would be provided at Rs 1,500 per month.
Bank of America-Merrill Lynch reportedly said in a note: “RIL’s entry into the cellular space led to mobile data explosion, its entry into the enterprise market, particularly its offerings to SMEs, will disrupt pricing and increase affordability of enterprise solutions and drive substantial adoption of data growth among small businesses who are currently not using enterprise services,”
The Reliance Jio has planned leverage its upcoming maze of data centres which will run Azure platform of Microsoft.
It is a known fact that with the increase in the use of digital platforms, currently, there has been a rise in the requirement of video and data privacy.
The affordability of the enterprise services would likely to boost the requirements of data storage giving a possible fillip to the data centres business in the country including the Northeast.
A report quoted RIL as saying that the upcoming data centres, which will run Microsoft’s Azure platform, would arm the data centres businesses of the country with the capacity to speed up their digital transformation.
