Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s cabinet on Sunday approved the MoU with National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCC) for the construction of World Trade Centre (Twin Towers) in Guwahati.

The design of the World Trade Centre in Guwahati has been finalized and work on it will begin soon after the cabinet has approved the construction.

National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCC), has been tasked with the construction of the whole infrastructure.

The 65–storey twin towers will be constructed in Beltola over an area of 32 bighas.

The National Buildings Construction Corporation is set to build the twin towers at the cost of Rs 2500 crores. The estimated time for the construction of the twin towers is 30 months.

World Trade Centre (Twin Towers) will house commercial and financial offices etc, convention centre, hotels, shopping complex, service apartments and others.
