Imphal: A teenage girl accidentally injured herself with a single-barrel gun due to improper handling in Imphal West district of Manipur.
The incident occurred on Thursday night at the Maheikol School’s Girls’ Hostel, reports said on Friday.

The victim Sinam Lanchenbi (18), a resident of Imphal’s Thangmeiband Polem Leikai, sustained injuries after the licensed gun she was posing with accidentally went off hitting her hip.

She was immediately rushed to the Shija Hospital in Imphal where she is currently undergoing treatment.

The loaded gun belonged to the owner of the hostel.
Meanwhile, the victim and the hostel owner have pleaded with the concerned police station not to register any case in this regard, the report added.
