Step 1: Visit the official website: ssa.assam.gov.in

Step 2: Click on TET Advertisement, 2019

Step 3: Click on Link 1 or Link 2

Step 4: Candidate has to first register by filling the Application Form.

Step 5: To register, click on ‘new registration’

Step 6: Fill up the application form

Step 7: Verify the entries made in the application form.

Step 8: Click on ‘Submit’

Step 9: Log in with application number and password

Step 10: Make online payment

Step 11: Take a print out of the application form.

Assam TET 2019 Notification

After almost a gap of seven years, the Assam government is now planning to organize the Teachers Eligibility Test, popularly known as TET to fill up the vacant posts of teachers in the schools of Assam. Assam TET Examination 2019 is scheduled for November 10.

The last TET exam was organized in Assam in 2012, and more than 26,100 teachers were recruited in the primary and upper primary level schools.




The TET exam, which is a must to find a job as a teacher in primary and secondary level schools, will be organized in September 2019, officials in the education department said. [Read the full article here]

Assam TET Recruitment 2019

More than 36,500 posts of teachers are lying vacant in the primary and upper primary schools of Assam. At present, the school students, mainly in the villages, are facing a lot of problem because of the vacancy. At present, there are several schools in the villages in Assam, where a single teacher is running the primary schools.

To overcome this situation, the Education Department is planning to organize the Teachers Eligibility Test again in Assam. It is likely to be held in September 2019.

The TET exam will be held in all the districts of Assam, including the areas administered by the regional and autonomous councils.

Assam TET 2019 Eligibility

Assam TET 2019 eligibility criteria are not yet released. But it is sure that one must have to fulfill a minimum requirement to appear in Assam TET 2019. The Rashtriya Madhayamik Sikshya Parishad will direct the requirements.

As the eligibility criteria for Assam TET 2019 has not been released yet, the aspiring teachers can assume that there would be not much of difference in the eligibility criteria from the Assam TET 2012.




Below is the list of eligibility criteria that might help the candidate –

  • Candidates must have a Graduate degree from any recognized university in India to appear in the Assam TET 2019.
  • Candidates must be having a degree in B.Ed or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Candidates who are applying for this test should not be more than 35 years or less than 18 years of age.
  • Candidates will be provided upper age relaxation to the reserved student according to the Government of Assam rules and regulation.

Assam TET Syllabus 2019

Assam Education Council organized the Assam TET 2012. The syllabus then and now will be a little different, but all the major subjects will be precisely the same.

There will be two papers – Paper I and Paper II

Assam TET 2019 Paper I:

Part 1: General Studies and Current Affairs (100 marks)

A. General Studies (80 marks)

B. Current Affairs (20 Marks)

Part 2: Pedagogy and General English (100 marks)

A. Pedagogy (75 marks)

B. General English (Maximum 25 marks)

TET 2019 Paper II:

Paper II will be consists of three options. Students can select according to their qualification like P.G. or U.G.

Assam TET 2019 Fee Structure – 

A fees of 325 rupees is decided for the General Categories students and for SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC/PWD(PH) students 300 rupees is decided.

How to prepare for Assam TET 2019

Like every examination, Assam TET examination is also a very competitive one. There is need for a thorough preparation to score a good result. The student must keep it in their mind that they are going to be a teacher once they successfully pass the examination.




Good general knowledge is much needed to qualify Assam TET 2019.
