A delegation of the representatives from the agitating organizations later submitted a memorandum to union home minister Amit Shah through the deputy commissioner (DC) of Karbi Anglong demanding a hill state.

ASDC president Holiram Terang said, “ASDC, KSA and KNCA have completed 32 years fighting for statehood but we have not been able to achieve it for the central government’s unwillingness to grant the same. The party in power at the Centre, be it Congress or BJP, is not willing to solve the political issue of the hill districts and the ASDC, KSA and KNCA have to go on demanding hill state.”

Terang said the BJP has the best opportunity as the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), the state and the Centre are ruled by it.

The ASDC demanded that the BJP fulfil its commitment made to the people of the hill districts on autonomous state (referred to as hill state by the ASDC).

Terang called the ASDC, KSA and KNCA members to continue demanding a separate autonomous state.

From Semson Sing Ingti Memorial Park, the agitators took out a march to the deputy commissioner’s office for submitting the memorandum addressed to union home minister Amit Shah on the autonomous state issue urging the union home minister to initiate the process of tripartite talk with ASDC, KSA and KNCA for creation of a hill state.
