The 14 extremist voters of Dhubri district of Assam lodged in three different designated camps across the state would also exercise their franchise for the Dhubri Lok Sabha seat which is going to poll on April 23.
“Three special polling booths at the respective designated camp namely Udalguri, Sarfangguri and Khunguri located in different parts of Assam have been set up for them,” said Animesh Talukdar, additional deputy commissioner cum election nodal officer of Dhubri district during a press meet held at the deputy Commissioner’s conference hall on Monday evening.
The official also informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has instructed the concerned Election department to make arrangements so that the extremist voters lodged in designated camps could cast their vote.

“Polling officials along with the ballot papers for the aforesaid three special booths have already moved to their respective polling station and they will be back after completing the poll procedure on April 23. Once the poll procedure is over, they will deposit the same ballot paper to the designated officer of the srong room located at District Library Auditorium, Dhubri,” Talukdar added.
The district official further mentioned that a total 14 extremist voters of Dhubri district are lodged in three designated camps. 10 of which are at the designated camp of Udalguri and 2 each at Sarfangguri and Khunguri designated camps respectively.
