Due to heavy operations carried out by the Myanmar Army recently, many camps belonging to the northeastern militant groups were demolished and seized by the military.

As a result of the mounting pressure on Northeast militant groups, around 28 hardcore cadres of the anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB-S) under the presidentship of B Saoraigwra, around 28 hardcore NDFB-S have left Mynamar soil to enter Assam, say sources.

Sources said many camps of militant outfits like NSCN-K, ULFA-I, NDFB-S, KLO besides camps belonging to Tripura and Manipur militants, were demolished by Myanmar Army.

Sources also claimed that a huge number of arms and ammunition were seized from their possession.

Around 18 to 22 Northeast militants were killed by the Myanmar security forces while many militants belonging to NSCN-K, ULFA-I, NDFB-S and other militant groups were apprehended by the Myanmar security forces, claim sources.

Running away from Myanmar soil, Evangel Narjary alias Ne Esera, foreign secretary of the NDFB-S and a resident of  Kapurpura village in Swrangjuli Mazbat under Udalguri district surrendered before security forces on Sunday along with his security guard.

A masters degree holder in Political Science & Certified Industrial Accountants (CIA), Ne Esera was the former principal of Diamond English Medium School in Udalguri before he joined the NDFB-S.

He joined the NDFB-S on September 6, 2013 and was trained in Myanmar.

He was first appointed as publicity secretary of the outfit in 2014-2015 and was later given the responsibility of foreign secretary on April 15, 2015.

Esera was also a drafting committee member of the United National Liberation Front of Western South East Asia (UNLFW).

Ne Esara surrendered before the security forces along with his personal gourd Lance Corporal R. Mwnthwr, a cadre of the 42nd batch of the outfit from Baksa district.

Sources said he surrendered before 35 Assam Rifles in Mon district along the Indo-Myanmar border.

According to information, during the surrender, he submitted an AK 47 rifle along with ammunition.
