The election expenditure observer for the Mangaladai Parliamentary constituency Sushil Katiyar arrived in the district on Tuesday.
Katiyar, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service is presently posted as Joint Commissioner in the Income Tax Department of the Government of India.
He has been appointed as the election expenditure observer for 8 Mangaldoi HPC.
On Tuesday, the election expenditure observer visited several Assembly segments of the HPC including Nalbari, Rangiya , Kamalpur, Sipajhar and Mangaldai to take stock of the ongoing election process and also held meetings with the returning officer, assistant returning officers and revenue circle officers of the Mangaldai election district.
The observer is presently camping at Mangaldai circuit house.
