Accusing Centre of betrayal, the Naga communities on Saturday have threatened to boycott the forthcoming general election โ€˜if their demands are not taken seriouslyโ€™.

โ€œBefore the last general election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured us that his government will resolve their problem if the BJP comes to powerโ€ฆnow the next election is knocking at the door, where are the promises!โ€ said Soso, a Naga leader.

In support of their demands, the Nagas from across the globe on Saturday culminated in the national capital and organized a massive rally from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar.

Significantly, Indo-Naga peace interlocutor R N Ravi is going for a three days long official visit to Nagaland from February 26.

According to the sources, Ravi would try to convince the Naga leadership with the progress of the peace talks.

โ€œWe want to ask Ram Madhab and R N Ravi where are the solutions,โ€ said another Naga leader present in the rally.

Ever since the BJP government came to the power, several rounds of talk took place โ€˜but nothing came out from such talksโ€™.

Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, however, on several occasions said that the peace talks have reached its final stage.
