Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) president and chief Minister Pawan Chamling on Thursday stated that Sikkim has become the most secure state for business community during the regime of SDF government.

He added that there was no any incident of extortion, suppression and injustice to business community in 25 years of SDF government in Sikkim.

He was speaking as the chief guest in a meeting of All Sikkim Democratic Trader’s Front of the ruling SDF party at Singtam Bazaar on Thursday.

Addressing the business community, the chief minister mentioned that SDF government has made a law to give residential certificate to left out people by declaring 26 April 1975 as the cut-off year to give them protection and rights. He added that anyone can take out the residential certificate by producing the documents of proof.

Chamling mentioned that oppositions have been making issue of non-issue matter on residential certificate to mislead the people. He stated that those people came in the State after 1975 and having the trade license will also get the rights at par to residential certificate holders of the State. He announced that now residential certificate and trade licence holders will get enlistment, StartUp loans and government benefits and grants of bazaar area.

Chamling mentioned that the SDF government has provided the equal protection, respect and political rights to business community of Sikkim. He further added that SDF party has made mayor, deputy mayor and councillors from business community of Sikkim.

He mentioned that some political parties of Sikkim and outside have been trying to instigate business community of Sikkim. On the same, he urged members of business community not to go after misinformation and false assurance. He further urged them to see the works of his party in providing equal rights and protection to them in Sikkim.
