Eleven youths including a girl from insurgency-hit Udalguri district of Assam have received job offers from various private sector companies after they  have successfully completed a free short-term training  organised by the Red Horn Division of Indian Army in collaboration with prominent corporate House ICICI under its CSR scheme.

The free training included various modules including office administration, retail sale, financial management etc., and it was meant for youths from economically very backward households  in Udalguri district.

The Red Horns Division of the Army operates in Darrang and Udalguri districts against insurgents. It has deemed it fit to provide skill development training to youths of the backward region to prevent them from ashtray into the ranks of insurgent groups. The Army engaged in the counter-insurgency operation have realized that  so long  educated unemployed youths  of the  state remain jobless  the problem of insurgency could not be solved permanently  only by the use of arms power .

The Commanding Officer of the Red Horns  Division recently distributed certificates to the  first batch of eleven youths including young girl from the insurgency-hit Udalguri following their  successful  completion of  their training programme that had started  in  the month of  September.

The group of  11 trained youth  have received  job  offers from various leading private sector companies in the country including North East Small Finance Bank , Matrimony.Com and MOTIF of Ahmedabad among others against a monthly salary in between  Rupees twelve thousand and twenty thousand , the source added .
