The 15th Sentinel Director General Assam Rifles (DGAR) Equestrian State Championship, 2018 will be held at Mapal Kangjeibung, the oldest living polo ground in the world located in Imphal in Manipur from February 2 to 6, 2018.
The Championship organized under the aegis of the Manipur Equestrian Association (MEA) with the support of Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR South), will include Show Jumping and Tent Pegging.
All the clubs and individuals are hereby informed to submit the details of the participants at its office at the Pony Breeding Farm, Lamphelpat before January 25, 2018, said secretary general Dr K Gopal Singh of MEA in a press release issued in Imphal on Wednesday.
In the 14th Sentinel Cup, DGAR Equestrian Championship which was conducted at the polo ground in Imphal on February 14, last year Junior Chingkheihunba Polo Club and Senior Chingkheihunba Polo Club of Imphal won the team events of Tent Pegging and Show Senior Jumping titles.
Y Suraj Singh, Ph James Singh and Th Kaoba Singh of Chingkheihunba Polo Club were adjudged best riders in individual category of Tent Pegging, Show Jumping and Women Show Jumping.
The event is conducted every year by IGAR (South) in association with MEA. Top officers of DGAR and IGAR(South) and key functionaries of MEA including its president Dr S Joykumar Singh and other polo lovers attended the championship last year.
