The Samson Teron faction of the Central Committee of Karbi Students’ Association (KSA-Samson) has voiced against showcasing Kangthilangso waterfall in Karbi Anglong as Abhi-Nil waterfall in the Durga Puja mandap this year.
The spokesperson of the Central Committee of KSA (Samson), Harlongbi Kramsa, made this appeal during a press conference here.

Abhijeet Nath and Nilotpal Das were the victims of a lynching incident that took place on June 8, 2018 at Panjuri village under Dokmoka PS in Karbi Anglong.

Addressing a press conference at the District Press Club here, on Monday, Kramsa said, “The Puja Committee of Lakhi Mandir, Beltola, Guwahati is going to build and showcase the scenic beauty of Kangthilangso waterfall changing and naming it as ‘Abhi-Nil waterfall’. We, the KSA, appeal to the Puja Committee of Lakshi Mandir of Beltola, Guwahati to withdraw the plan and not to play any dirty tactics on such an unfortunate incident.”

Another KSA (Samson) spokesperson Sarkiri Rongphar said, “Whatever happened on June 8 was unfortunate and a community as a whole should not be blamed as ‘Jungalee. Such lynching incidents also took place in other places of Assam as well, but why they are silent in those cases. The law is taking its own course and no one can go above the law.”
It may be mentioned that the Assam Police, which set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT), arrested more than 45 people in connection with the incident. The lynching incident created much sensation across the State and the country and it was widely condemned.
