Guwahati: The proposed Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) must deliver meaningful development through sound administration, transparent spending, and respect for Naga traditions, Nagaland Minister K.G. Kenye said on Tuesday.
Speaking at ENPUK’s silver jubilee in Kohima, Kenye said Eastern Nagaland must learn from past shortcomings as it prepares to administer the proposed FNTA.
The proposed authority follows a tripartite Memorandum of Agreement signed in New Delhi on February 5 between the Centre, the Nagaland government, and the Eastern Nagaland Peopleโs Organisation (ENPO).
The Nagaland Assembly subsequently passed the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority Bill, 2026, in September to advance the framework.
Kenye stated that the FNTA provides Eastern Nagaland with a historic opportunity to secure long-term progress, provided financial resources are directed strictly toward regional priorities and future generations.
The minister called on ENPUK members to review the organisationโs 25-year journey and use their experience to support effective self-governance under the new administrative structure.
