Imphal: Manipurโs Dhanamanjuri University (DMU), Imphal, formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Miranda House, University of Delhi, on July 24.
The signing ceremony, held at the Miranda House campus, was attended by the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of DMU, a dean from DMU, Miranda House Principal Bijayalaxmi Nanda, Geetanjali Elangbam from the Department of Botany at Miranda House, and officials from both institutions as well as the Manipur government.
On the same occasion, a Letter of Intent (LoI) was exchanged between DMU and the Department of Botany at Miranda House to promote botanical research, environmental studies and sustainable practices.
The collaboration will facilitate joint field studies, resource sharing and specialised workshops.
The partnership aims to bridge the geographical gap between Manipur and the national capital by establishing a framework for joint academic programmes, faculty exchanges, student mobility and interdisciplinary research.
It is expected to expand DMU’s national academic footprint while providing greater opportunities for innovation among students and faculty.
DM University was established under the Dhanamanjuri University Act, 2017, which came into effect on April 6, 2018, through a notification published in the Manipur Gazette by the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Manipur.
The university was established under the National Scheme of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA).
