Guwahati: Birla Fertility & IVF has joined hands with Health Care Hospital in Pasighat to expand access to advanced fertility treatment in Arunachal Pradesh, a state where specialised reproductive healthcare services have remained largely unavailable.
The partnership was formally announced during the โFertility Unscriptedโ Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme held at Hotel Airport View in Lower Banskota, Pasighat. The event brought together fertility experts, gynaecologists and healthcare professionals from across the Northeast to discuss developments in reproductive medicine and patient care.
As part of the collaboration, couples in Arunachal Pradesh will be able to access a range of fertility services locally at Health Care Hospital, including fertility consultations, diagnostic scans, ovulation tracking and intrauterine insemination (IUI) procedures. The services will be supported by specialists from Birla Fertility & IVFโs centres in cities such as Guwahati, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi, reducing the need for patients to travel outside the state for treatment.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kalpana Jain, Senior Consultant and Centre Head of Birla Fertility & IVF, Guwahati, highlighted the importance of making fertility care more accessible. She also discussed factors that can improve IUI outcomes, stressing the role of timely intervention, personalized treatment plans and regular monitoring.
Dr. Jain noted that conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis and luteinised unruptured follicle (LUF) syndrome can significantly impact fertility and should be diagnosed and managed at an early stage.
Dr. Kaling Megu, Chairman and Managing Director of Health Care Hospital, said the initiative would help local couples receive specialised fertility care closer to home, easing both financial costs and emotional stress associated with seeking treatment outside the state. Dr. James Modi also underscored the importance of early consultation and expert medical guidance in addressing fertility-related concerns.
The CME programme further featured discussions on fertility awareness, recurrent pregnancy loss, advancements in reproductive healthcare and ethical medical practices. Participants welcomed the collaboration, expressing optimism that it would strengthen fertility services and improve access to reproductive healthcare across Arunachal Pradesh.
