A regional workshop on Swachh Survekshan-2019 was organised by Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), Assam supported by Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and Urban Development Department, Assam on Wednesday at Pragjyoti ITA Centre in Machkhowa of Guwahati.
The workshop was inaugurated by the Minister of Urban Development Department, Pijush Hazarika.
Addressing the workshop, the Minister stressed on how everyone should take a proactive approach to make the scheme a success.
Within two months all related works should be completed and within fifteen days all funds related to Swachh Bharat Mission will be released, the Minister said.
The Minister also discussed with the various district representatives of the department.
In the opening session, Dr Sanghamitra Bhattacharyya from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs presented on Swachh Survekshan overall methology and Satish Kumar, CPHEEO also presented on Indicators related to SWM Collection and Transportation in Swachh Survekshan -2019.
Mission Director Nazreen Ahmed, Swachh Bharat Mission, Assam, GMC Commissioner Monalisa Goswami, officials from other north-eastern states, senior officials from Urban Development Department, Assam, etc, attended and participated in the workshop.
