Guwahati: The (TISS) Guwahati Off-Campus will host the third edition of TISS-G MUN 2026 from May 1 to May 3 at its campus, bringing together students from across the Northeast and other regions for deliberations on contemporary global and national issues.
The three-day Model United Nations conference is being organised as part of TISS’s Navati celebrations, marking 90 years of the institution’s academic legacy. The event aims to promote youth engagement in policy discourse and critical thinking through simulated diplomatic platforms.
This year’s edition, themed “Dawn: Expanding Horizons,” will focus on emerging international, environmental and socio-economic challenges. Participants will engage in structured debates and negotiations reflecting real-world decision-making processes.
The conference will feature four committees: the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), and the International Press Corps (IPC). The agenda includes issues such as climate justice, cybersecurity threats and inclusive economic growth.
According to the organisers, the platform is intended to strengthen leadership, negotiation and analytical skills among participants, while encouraging collaborative problem-solving and policy-oriented discussion.
Registrations for the event are currently open to institutions and individual delegates. The organisers expect participation from schools and colleges across the region, underscoring Guwahati’s growing role as a centre for youth-led intellectual engagement.
