The Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation (DMC) has announced the temporary closure of all roadside markets under its jurisdiction on February 14, 2026.

Dibrugarh: The Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation (DMC) has announced the temporary closure of all roadside markets under its jurisdiction on February 14, 2026, in view of a major inaugural event scheduled in the district.

As per Office Order No. DMC/EST/OFFICE ORDER/2025/5605, the decision relates to the inauguration of the โ€œfirst-ever IAF Emergency Landing Facility in Northeast India,โ€ scheduled to be held at Moran on February 14.

The Office of the Commissioner, Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation, issued the order. It said the temporary closure aims to prevent traffic congestion and ensure the smooth movement of vehicles, officials and the general public during the programme.

โ€œAll roadside markets falling under the jurisdiction of the Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation shall remain temporarily closed on February 14, 2026,โ€ the notice said.

The Enforcement Branch and other concerned officials have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the directive. The corporation has also warned that it will deal with any violation of the order under the provisions of the Assam Municipal Act and other relevant rules in force.

The corporation has advised residents, vendors and other stakeholders to take note of the order. It asked them to make necessary arrangements in advance to avoid inconvenience.
