Dimapur: Nagaland continues to face a high unemployment rate, with over 74,500 youth registered in employment exchanges across the state as of July 2025, according to the organisers of a job fair held in Kohima on Friday.

A one-day job fair was organised at the Regional Employment Exchange, Kohima, bringing together job seekers, employers, and key placement agencies on a single platform.

The event was jointly conducted by the Regional Employment Officer, Kohima; the Sub-Regional Employment Officer (National Career Service for ST/SC), Kohima; and Don Bosco Placement Network (AIDA), Dimapur.

More than 250 candidates attended the fair, of whom 74 were shortlisted for employment opportunities across various sectors.

The job fair aimed to create direct engagement between recruiters and candidates, promote employment opportunities, and support the stateโ€™s skill development initiatives.

T Yimlikhumzuk, Regional Employment Officer, Kohima, said seven companies participated in the fair, offering more than 500 job openings across Nagaland and other states.

Participating employers included Reliance Jio, Chilli Breeze, Talent Acquaintance, Kin Ventures, Apex Motors Dimapur, SBI Life PR Hill branch, and SBI Life Secretariat branch, Kohima.

The event received encouraging feedback from both employers and job seekers.
