South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai from Meghalaya has urged Union Tourism Minister Alphons Kannanthanam to approve all pending proposals submitted by the State Tourism Department.
Shullai is also the chairman of the Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation.
Shullai, who was in New Delhi on August 2, met the Union Tourism Minister and had discussions about various pending proposals which were submitted by the State Tourism Department to the Centre.
A statement said that during the meeting with South Shillong MLA, Sanbor Shullai, Union Tourism Minister Alphons Kannanthanam has assured to look into all pending proposals of the State Tourism Department so as to enhance the tourism potential of the State under the Central Government scheme, Swadesh Darshan and other schemes.
It may be mentioned that the South Shillong constituency MLA, Shullai has taken an initiative to invite various government departments, including banks to discuss the issue of unemployment, especially concerning the different self-employment schemes of the Government.
Shullai held a meeting at the Assembly Hostel, Shillong which was attended by Government officials from around 28 departments and a number of banks.
