Construction works of the stadium, located at Narsingarh on the outskirts of Agartala, began in 2017

Guwahati: The under-construction international cricket stadium in Agartala, Tripura may become the second home ground of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for IPL 2025, as Kolkata’s Eden Garden will be going for renovation next year. 

Construction works of the stadium, located at Narsingarh on the outskirts of Agartala, began in 2017.

Chairman of IPL Arun Kumar Dhumal, who visited the stadium recently, said it could be the second home ground of Kolkata Knight Riders if it gets ready by February 2025.

Meanwhile, the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) has invited a reputed construction company for speedy completion of the stadium in order to be able to host IPL matches in 2025.

The present company took over seven years to complete 80 per cent of the construction works though the deadline was 22 months.  

The TCA has decided to go all-out to get the stadium ready by February 2025.
