Guwahati: Two more Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended in Karimganj district of Assam on Friday and pushed back to their country.
The foreign nationals, identified as Kobir Sikhdhar and Md Selim, were apprehended along the India-Bangladesh international border after they sneaked into India illegally.
The duo was later pushed back to Bangladesh after completion of the legal formalities.
This comes close on the heels of a similar infiltration attempt on October 30 where a Bangladeshi national managed to enter India crossing the border fence in Karimganj district.
The infiltrator Mustakin Islam, however, was apprehended by the Karimganj police and pushed back to Bangladesh.

Assam shares a 276.5-km-long international border with Bangladesh.
While Barak Valley’s Cachar and Karimganj districts share an international border with Bangladesh, Dhubri and South Salmara-Mankachar districts in lower Assam share borders with the neighbouring country.
Influx of Bangladeshi nationals into the Northeastern states, including Assam, has been on the rise ever since the neighbouring country has witnessed political unrest.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in September said more than 108 illegal Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in Assam so far.
On the other hand, Assam DGP Gyanendra Pratap Singh had said the state police and Border Security Force (BSF) would not leave any stone unturned to prevent attempts by non-Indians to enter the country from Bangladesh illegally.
